A Shopify-plus brand founder put this to me straight: "I have Shopify, Stripe, Klaviyo, and our CRM. I do not have time for another integration nightmare."
I love this question, because the honest answer is reassuring. For most of what matters there is no project at all, and for the rest, the connection is built in a designer, not a quarter of engineering.
The part that needs no integration
The Guru becomes an expert on your business by reading your website, product pages, help docs, and policy pages. You paste your URL, it indexes your content, you review and tune, and you drop a snippet on your site, about five minutes for a typical small site, with the copy-paste as the most technical step. You re-index whenever you want, on demand or via an API call to our reindex endpoint, so answers stay current as your content changes. Because it works from your published content, it does not care whether Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Webflow, or a custom build sits behind your storefront.
Shopify, connected directly and live
For Shopify, the Guru connects to your store through a custom app you authorize with your admin credentials, and it works with your live store data in real time. Out of the box that includes product search and availability, order tracking and status, and your store policies. Order details are gated behind verification, the customer confirms with a one-time code sent to their phone or email first, so account information only ever goes to the right person. A customer asking "where is my order" gets a real, current answer from Shopify, not a guess.
Your channels stay yours (BYOC)
For messaging you bring your own accounts. The Guru connects to your existing Twilio (voice and SMS) and your own WhatsApp Business account, so you keep your numbers, your relationships, and your sender reputation. We are a certified Meta WhatsApp Tech Partner, so authorizing WhatsApp is a standard embedded login, not a migration. Email is a provisioned inbox you forward to. And it can move a conversation across channels when that helps, a phone or web chat can switch to text on request to send a link or continue by SMS.
Everything else: built in the Flow Designer, not waited on
Here is the part that surprises technical founders. We do not ship a brittle "native connector" for every tool and hope it fits your setup. Connections to your other systems, a CRM, an internal database, an order or returns workflow, are built as deterministic flows in our integrated Flow Designer, and we expose a REST API, webhooks, and an MCP endpoint to wire them up. This is not slideware: we run live backend integrations this way in production, including a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM integration for Curacao.
Because those actions run on the JavaScript Flow Engine, conventional scripted code controls the call and the parameters with the AI removed from the action path, they are deterministic. Across 200,000+ flows including 100,000+ phone calls, business actions completed exactly as scripted. For that transactional layer the right word is not "97 percent," it is perfect and repeatable, because a probabilistic model is never the thing pulling the trigger. That same engine collected 105 payments in a single Curacao weekend and sent hundreds of payment links by text and email.
So when you ask about Zendesk, HubSpot, or your homegrown system: there may be no one-click button with its name on it, but connecting it is a Flow Designer task scoped to the action you need, not an integration nightmare measured in quarters.
The honest summary
- Answers from your site: no integration, about five minutes, any platform, re-index on demand.
- Shopify: direct and real-time, product search, order status (verified), store policies.
- Channels: your own Twilio and WhatsApp (BYOC), provisioned email, cross-channel switch-to-text.
- CRM, other systems, and actions: built as deterministic flows in the Flow Designer, with a REST API, webhooks, and an MCP endpoint, proven in production (D365 CRM and payment collection for Curacao).
Frequently asked questions
Do we need developers to set it up?
Not for the core. You paste your URL, the Guru learns your content, and you embed a snippet, about five minutes, no code. Your own WhatsApp and Twilio connect from the admin portal, and Shopify connects via a custom app with your admin credentials. Deeper, action-taking integrations are built in the Flow Designer, which is a scoping exercise, not a developer project that blocks your launch.
Can we keep our existing WhatsApp and phone numbers?
Yes, Bring Your Own Channels: the Guru connects to your existing Twilio and WhatsApp Business accounts, so you keep your numbers, your customer relationships, and your reputation.
Does it actually connect to Shopify, or just read the site?
Both. It reads your published content, and it also connects to Shopify directly and live for product search, order status (with customer verification), and store policies.
How do we connect a CRM or a custom system?
Through the Flow Designer, with our REST API, webhooks, and MCP endpoint. We run production backend integrations this way, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Curacao. There may be no pre-labeled button for your specific tool, but the connection is a scoped flow, not a months-long project.
